Chris Reeve Mark V (double guard clip point blade) mint,
marked South Africa with original black leather sheath and signed
serial card No. 63, made July 14, 1988. The blade is 7" and it is 12" overall
and also has number 63 etched on it. The blade still has the protection
tape on the edge and the knife is mint including the cutting edge. The
sheath is near mint with several very small age spots but still very
solid. One Piece Range: production 1983 – present. Fixed blade
family of knives, featuring a hollow handle and blade manufactured from
one continuous piece of A2 tool steel. Very well done and my favorite of
the hollow handle survival knives.
The best made in
South Africa one we have ever had.
This is a Mark V and not a Mark VI, it was made 21 years ago.
Chris Reeve Knives was founded as a sole proprietorship in
January 1984, with Chris Reeve making custom knives in the single garage
attached to the house in which Reeve was living in Durban, South Africa. In
March 1989, Reeve and his wife/partner Anne Reeve immigrated to the United
States, and CRK commenced manufacturing in Boise, ID.
We only have one get it before it is gone!
Probably the best hollow handle
survival knife in production today!
