| Gerber Coffin Bowie with Cordia wood coffin handle,
15" overall, near mint with original leather sheath. The knife has been very lightly
sharpened, it does have a scratch in the wood handle near the guard
on the back side as seen in the second photo below. The sheath has light carry wear and is a heavy duty
quality brown leather sheath. The blade is over
1/4" thick. The bowie was made in 1991 and is 1185 of
1500 made (1185/1500). Gerber brought out this design in 1991 and made 1500 in wood
and 1500 in stag only that first year. The normal production model had a rubber like
handle and was dropped from the line in 1998 or 99. The first production, of which this is one, cost more
than the standard rubber handle production model but I do not have the
list price for this model.
We had serial number 0000/1500 mint in
the box which we sold back in 1996.
