As stated on the walnut plaque,
"Gerber USA and Boker Solingen join to recognize Colonel Rex Applegate
and William Fairbairn for their contribution to the design of combat
knives". The set includes a Gerber Combat Folder and a Boker Dagger
(440C stainless),
both serial numbered 587 affixed to a walnut plaque that is ready for
hanging on a wall. The set includes the Certificate of Authenticity
signed by Col. Rex Applegate, Jim Wehrs (General Manager of Gerber
Legendary Blades) and Ernst Felix (President of Boker Solingen), a
8"X10" photograph of Col. Rex Applegate signed by him and ready
for framing. The collectable set includes the 48-page book "Col.
Applegate and His Knives", which gives the history of the Applegate-Fairbairn
knives, plus 6-pages of historic photographs from his collection, and fighting
techniques.
The set is mint, new-in-the-box, with all original
packing material. It has never been opened and still has the factory seal.
A unique and beautiful set made back in 1997 when Applegate was still
alive. He died in 1998 at the age of 84. The set came out at $340.00 list price.
The set comes with everything as from the factory.
