Old sword. Maybe from the Holy Roman Empire? The Holy Roman Empire capital was in what
today is Germany. Overall length 32". I do not know where it came from. The writing on it appears to be German in origin. I do not know what the symbols mean or what they are.

One of the words on the sword spells "WIERSBERCH" which is the old way of spelling the name of the city of Wirsberg. Wirsberg is a town located in Bavaria in Germany (near Kulmbach) (www.wirsberg.de) first mentioned 1231 A.D. Judging from the website this city had a background of some importance in the middle ages.
