Advertisers can manage their account online

We have CPM (cost per impression) and CPC (cost per click) advertising. We create an account for each of our clients so they can login to view their own reports and statistics. Individual passwords allow each of our advertisers to view their own stats (overall and daily) in their personal area. Reporting is real-time. Clicks and impressions received will show up in each Advertiser's Area, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days a year. When your ads are being seen our software will exclude over 1400+ spiders/robots from being counted in your statistics (impressions + clicks). The software can tell the difference between a robot/spider and a real person. This means you do not pay for impressions or clicks from these robots/spiders. Campaigns - Each is planned and organized to achieve a specific goal or raise people’s awareness of your product or service.  The campaign is specific to the creative (banner) to be published and the duration of the publication. Online advertising campaigns are defined by a number of variables, including the digital creative, the duration or flight dates, the pricing program and any user targeting applied. A contract agreement between an advertiser or advertising agency and KnifeWebGuide.com or CutlersCove.com is a campaign. No refund once advertising has started running.

 Delivery Features
  • Affordable campaign plans. We offer a variety of plans starting as low as $40. If you pay using PayPal billing is handled online and the information is encrypted with the latest technology for your security.
  • Results reporting. Our system enables you to track results of your advertising campaign right on your personal page. If you want to make changes to your ad, you can do so free of charge.
  • Serve and track GIF, animated GIF, JPG, PNG files, Text Links, HTML, Flash, Java and Rich Media advertisements. Tracks each of this group views and the clicks and reports results.
  • Banners are automatically rotated in each campaign or zone.
  • We can serve banners two ways. (1) upload to our database or (2) serve from another URL
  • All artwork must be accompanied by Alternate Text*. Alt text should be no more than 50 characters (spaces included).
  • Each Advertiser can have any number of advertisements up to 3 banners per campaign per size. This number is subject to change.
  • An impression is made each time a banner or creative is called. Every time a request is made of the server for an advertisement an impression is made and counted.

  • GeoTargeting allows you to restrict ad displays to visitors by Country, State/Region and/or City/Territory. The new GeoLite databases are 99.5% accurate at a country level and 79% on a city level for the US within a 25 mile radius. The software is able to detect which country, state or city our visitors are located in and show ads based on your delivery settings. A great improved feature especially if you are targeting other countries or a select city for a certain product or service. You now have world, country, state and city targeting in showing your banners.

  • Date range: You can target Campaigns through a specific date range. (Start Date, Stop Date) Shows the campaign only on a selected start date to a selected stop date. This makes it possible to book ad space in advance to make sure you have it locked down and your Campaign will start as you planned.

  • The time range ad scheduling option lets advertisers focus on when it's most advantageous to show their ads (morning, afternoon or night). By default, ad will be set to run 24/7 every day.
     
  • Day range: You can target Campaigns through a specific day range. (Mondays, Fridays, Saturday, Sunday) Shows the campaign only on selected days of the week. Day of week targeting capability sets ads to only display on certain days of the week. The day range ad scheduling option lets advertisers focus on when it's most advantageous to show their ads.

  • Frequency Capping: Frequency Capping allows you to restrict the number of times a specific visitor is shown a particular advertisement each 24 hour period. With this option you control how much you show off your banner and keep banner burn out to a minimum. Our recommendation when you start the campaign is 3 to 8 views per banner for the range to be shown for Frequency Capping. Then watch your Advertisement Management Control Panel to see if this needs to be changed.
  • Daily Capping: Defines the maximum number of times per day an ad can be shown. With this option you control how many banner impressions you show each 24 hours or the maximum shown per day.
  • IP tracking: Is used for increased security and accurate click-through counts. Every computer that communicates over the Internet is assigned an IP address that may distinguish it from other computers on the Internet. The process starts all over again each 24 hours to keep track of visitors, your impressions and click-through counts.

World Wide Targeting - GeoTargeting

  • Ad Priority: The ability to show more of one banner than another banner though ad priority control. If you need a maximum amount of banners shown in a limited or fixed period of time you will need to purchase Tier 1 impressions.
  • Cookies: Our system does not use cookies to track banner ads.
     
  • Some Targeting Features subject to availability just ask.

Each time an advertisement is displayed and/or clicked, the users unique IP address is recorded into the database. This allows our system to distinguish between unique and repeat impressions/clicks within each 24 hour period.
     
  • Specific region: You can target Campaigns through a specific region. Regions are a group of pages that we have set on the sites. We use regions to define a section or category of our web sites, which have a theme in common. For example, a folding knife section, hunting knife section or KWG directory section. Regions organize the zones.

  • Specific zone: You can target Banners through a specific zone. Zones are basically different places on our web pages. A Zone is a collection of the same size ads that rotate together and are displayed on our web sites. Zones make it possible to show multiple banners in different places on one page. Ads will only be shown in assigned zone(s). Zones are organized on each page in different regions.

  • Regions on the sites are set in the following sections:

Targeting your banner ad helps you reach an appropriate web audience. Showing your banner at times or dates that appeal to your target audience may help improve the effectiveness of your banner campaign. If you have a special event to promote (sale, grand opening, giveaway, anniversary, etc.) we can start your banners on a specific date and end them on a specific date around your promotion. We need 3-days notice to start a time specific campaign. If you need it started in less than 3-days, ask maybe we can do what you want? Limited availability.

Tracking URLs
A tracking URL is your Web address (http://www.mycompany.com) with a special code attached (http://www.mycompany.com?source=kwg). This lets you identify clicks from the KWG network. Our software tracks your banner impressions and clicks but if you wish you may use your own web measurement software to track clicks from the KWG network to your web site in addition to our stats. Usability studies have shown that you don't want the viewer to have to drill down too many times to get to your offer or special deal. Therefore we recommend creating a special landing page for your banner.

Unfortunately, referring URLs may not accurately reflect the source of the visitor as having come from KWG. You will need to let us know that you want to add this special code to your URL. Just ask and we will be glad to add it.

This free, easy-to-use tracking tool takes the guesswork out of advertising campaigns. The Ad management control panel provides our advertisers with conversion data (including count, clicks and rate) at the banner and account level for all your campaigns. So you can know exactly how each banner or campaign is performing by the hour, day or month. Each advertiser has the ability to export their Campaign's day-by-day statistics to Excel from the ad management control panel.

When you have paid, you will receive a username and password which will allow you to login to the control panel and get started. Using the control panel, you can:

Powerful Real-Time Statistics

Track each individual ad, campaign, and network performance using real-time reporting features. With our statistical reporting, you can monitor your ad performance with ease. Several reports are provided including 30-day outlook, per hour reporting and last 14 days.

Performance Summary

A performance summary is provided on each of your reports. Both unique impressions and clicks, raw impressions and raw clicks are recorded. The Click Through Ratio (CTR) is also calculated within the Performance Summary.

24 Hour Break Down

Our system allows you to go beyond traditional reporting with a 24 hour break-down of your ad's clicks and impressions. The 24 hour breakdown includes the current day results as well as the previous days. This information can be used to monitor which hours get the most impressions and/or clicks. Web: You can send your banners to us by sending the URL where your banners have been posted for us to pickup from a website. URL should be provided either by email or on the insertion order.

Research clearly suggests that ads that load quicker get more clicks.

HTML sniffer code must be implemented in order to detect whether a user's browser is capable of displaying the Flash file. A back-up banner should be displayed if the user cannot accept Flash. We will not approve HTML sniffer codes, which prompt the user to download a plug-in. A back-up banner is required for all Rich Media ads.

A banner may produce audio or video without a user clicking on it. Once audio/video begins, there must be a clear "pause" or "stop" button.

Overruns and delivery accuracy

Our goal is to allow business owners, knife makers and others to easily promote market and profit from their Web sites or business. Using our ad products and services, presented across our network will help this happen.

We track the error logs on our network using our banner management system and our web measurement software. All servers have common status code errors. Because our server has these different errors does not mean our server is ineffective or not a high quality one. Some of the errors are: Service Unavailable, Bad Request and Internal Server Error. 

We want to make up the banners not being delivered, for what ever reason, for each advertiser by adding more to the total impressions purchased. The amount averages about 1.3%. Therefore we add 2.0% in impressions to each campaign purchased to help make sure each advertiser receives all the impressions they have paid for. We are glad to make up the impressions for all our advertisers because we are serious about delivery accuracy and appreciate your business.

Example: Advertiser buys 10,000 impressions of a Square Button 125X125 and we set the amount to be shown at 10,200
